Kazakh PM promises to fight smuggling of Chinese goods

ASTANA – Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov promised to eliminate the “grey zones” on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border, used by smugglers infiltrate Chinese goods into Kazakhstan, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported March 9.

Russia has frequently complained about the porous southern Kazakh border since the inception Kazakh-Russian-Belarusian customs union last January. The Kremlin says the smuggling of cheap Chinese goods threatens the common economic space.
