Tajikistan defines Rogun as sovereignty issue
DUSHANBE -- Tajik Prime Minister Akil Akilov responded February 6 to a letter from his Uzbek counterpart, Shavkiyat Mirziyaev, saying that the Rogun hydroelectric dam is not directed against any other country, and its construction is a matter of national sovereignty.
Akilov said Tajikistan was ready to discuss all questions related to Rogun with Uzbekistan, Ferghana.ru reported. Akilov also said that the project development group had taken all environmental, water management and technological risks into account, CA-news reported.
