ORAKZAI AGENCY – The Pakistani army claimed September 7 it has cleared nearly 90% of Orakzai Agency of militants and now is helping the area’s displaced persons return home.
Army Brigadier Pervaiz Malik, who is heading the military drive in Orakzai Agency, said in a news briefing in Peshawar that the army operation killed 600 suspected militants. He said all the deceased or arrested militants were local, Express News reported. Sixty soldiers died during the operations, he said.
