DUSHANBE – A Tajik border guard was shot to death on the Tajik-Afghan border late April 10, AsiaPlus.tj reported April 11, quoting Tajik border guard spokesman Khushnud Rakhmatullaayev.
Makhmadumar Kholov, 20, a private, was killed by two bullets while serving at the Kisht border checkpoint in the Shuroabad area, Rakhmatullayev said. The gun battle between Kholov's unit and the attackers lasted several minutes, Afghanistan.ru reported.
A search of the area produced no results, he said, adding the attackers probably fled back to Afghanistan.
