Tajik border guard killed by Afghan militants

DUSHANBE – A Tajik border guard was killed in a shootout on the Afghan border April 24, AsiaPlus.tj reported.
Some 12 militants crossing the border opened fire on the guards in Sarigor village, Shuroabad District, Border Guard spokesman Khushnud Rakhmatullayev said. Guard Oibek Nazrulloyev, 20, and an Afghan militant were killed. Tajik forces reportedly wounded two other militants, but they fled back into Afghanistan.
The shootout was the sixth on the Tajik-Afghan border this year, according to the Tajik Border Guard.
