Tajiks, Pakistanis discuss road link for their countries

DUSHANBE – Visiting Pakistani Federal Communications Minister Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan and Tajik Transport Minister Nizom Khakimov August 7 discussed a possible road through Afghanistan linking their countries, AsiaPlus.tj reported August 8.
Khan said Pakistan has completed almost 70% of the technical and economic pre-requisites for building such a road, Tajik Transport Ministry spokesman Farid Yokubzoda said.
The ministers also discussed co-operation in helping Tajikistan break out of its transport isolation, AsiaPlus.tj reported.
Khan, who is visiting Tajikistan August 7-10, plans also to meet Prime Minister Akil Akilov and Foreign Minister Khamrokhon Zarifi.
