KHUZDAR – A local journalist was gunned down in Khuzdar August 14 soon after he had covered a protest event organised by a Baloch separatist organisation, media reported.
Munir Ahmed Shakir, working for an online wire service, was returning from visiting a hospital patient when unknown attackers fired upon him, BBC Urdu reported.
Shakir had covered the Black Day observed by the Baloch separatist organisation on Pakistan’s Independence Day. He was not able to file his story or photographs, media reported.
The Baloch separatist organisations had barred journalists from covering their activities, BBC added.
