PESHAWAR – Pakistani Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants have killed the 15 Frontier Constabulary (FC) troops kidnapped in Tank December 22, the TTP and officials confirmed.
The bodies of the kidnapped FC men were found on Thall-Mir Ali road January 5.
The soldiers were killed to avenge the killing of top TTP commander Qari Kamran and 12 others in the Karamna area of Landikotal Tehsil of Khyber Agency a few days ago, Ihsanullah Ihsan, spokesman for the banned TTP, told Central Asia Online.
The FC men were kidnapped during an attack on their fort in Mullazi December 22. One soldier was killed and two were injured during the attack.
The militants stole arms, ammunition and other equipment from the fort.
District Co-ordination Officer Hungu Abdul Kamal said 14 of the bodies were flown to Peshawar via helicopter, while one was transported to Dera Ismail Khan. He said that the funeral of the slain men will take place on the FC grounds.
