Gilani appeals to Taliban to talk with Kabul

ISLAMABAD – Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani February 24 asked Taliban leaders and other Afghan groups, including Hizb-e-Islami, to participate in the Afghan reconciliation process, media reported.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai this week again called on the Taliban to negotiate directly with his government and appealed to Pakistan to facilitate peace efforts in Afghanistan, Dawn reported.
Gilani said it is time to open a new chapter in the history of Afghanistan, media added.
