Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, EU to sign South Corridor pact
BAKU – Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and the EU are preparing documents that will ensure the delivery of Caspian gas to Europe, news media reported February 29, quoting Azeri Industry and Energy Minister Natik Aliyev.
The three partners are preparing a political document supporting the South Corridor gas project and an intergovernmental agreement on the TransCaspian pipeline. The documents are expected to be ready by the end of this year.
The TransCaspian pipeline is expected to start at the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea, then connect to the Azeri coast and then connect to the South Corridor to deliver gas to Europe.
