By Zahir Shah
MIRANSHAH – Twelve Punjabi Taliban were killed overnight May 6 when security forces pounded a house in Miranshah, DawnNews reported May 7.
Officials told DawnNews that the militants were returning from Amin checkpost area, where they had attacked security forces who were defusing an improvised explosive device May 6.
Nine soldiers were killed and 12 others were injured in the May 6 attack, and seven militants were killed in the early part of the fray, but problems continued into May 7 and militants at one point displayed two decapitated bodies, reportedly of security forces who had been killed.
The violence led to a curfew that could be lifted soon, if authorities determine that no other militants linked to the May 6 attack are at large.
