Kyrgyz parliament eases visa requirement for 44 countries
BISHKEK – The Kyrgyz parliament June 14 supported removal of visa requirements for visitors from 44 wealthy countries, K News reported. Presidential approval is required for the bill to become law.
Visitors from the listed countries can spend up to 60 days in Kyrgyzstan without needing a visa. The 44 countries have per capita annual GDPs of more than US $7,000 (330,100 KGS), Lenta.ru reported.
The bill, if it becomes law, will attract tourism and investment, officials said, according to Lenta.ru. However, MP Zamir Bekboyev criticised the bill for depriving the government of visa fees, according to 24.kg.
