Kazakh border guard trial to be open, justice says
ASTANA –Kazakhstani border guard Vladislav Chelakh, accused of killing 14 colleagues and a forest ranger in May, will have an open trial.
“I think the trial will be open,” Supreme Court Justice Kalidula Shaukharov said June 15, Novosti-Kazakshstan reported. “The trial most likely will be in Taldykorgan at the scene of the crime.”
Chelakh reportedly confessed to killing 14 comrades and a nearby forest ranger May 28 at an outpost on the Chinese border.
