Tajik Olympic team now 15 strong
DUSHANBE – Vladislava Ovcharenko and Katerina Ismailova qualified for the 2012 Olympics, bringing the Tajik team to 15, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported June 14.
Ovcharenko (100m and 200m dash) and Ismailova (50m freestyle swimming) qualified on the basis of a joint decision of the International Olympic Committee, the international swimming and track-and-field federations, and the Tajik National Olympic Committee (NOC), RFE/RL reported.
Sergei Babikov (pistol shooting) and Farkhod Kuralov (200m dash) may still qualify, NOC official Makhmudi Abdullokh said.
