CHITRAL – At least six militants were killed July 18 as Pakistani security forces repulsed an attack on border check-posts in Chitral District on the Pakistani-Afghan border July 18, officials said.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) insurgents inflicted “huge” losses on security forces at two check-posts, TTP spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan claimed. However, troops said they repelled the attack and killed six to nine militants.
Militants fired from some distance, but troops targeted them and silenced their guns, Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement.
