KHAR – Salarzai tribal elders in Bajaur Agency, Pakistan, July 19 again assured the administration and security forces of co-operation in thwarting cross-border attacks by militants, media reported.
Tribal elders, religious scholars and administration and security officials attended the jirga, Dawn reported July 19.
“All the tribesmen of the entire region are united against the enemies of their land,” the elders said, according to Dawn. “They are capable of facing any challenge in their areas.”
Tribesmen have established several new posts along the border and have deployed hundreds of volunteers, the elders said.
“We have reorganised peace committees in different areas,” the elders said.
