Tashkent residents to sort trash starting August 1
TASHKENT – Starting August 1, Tashkent residents and businesses will have to sort trash, Gazeta.uz reported July 18, quoting new rules approved by the city council.
The rules establish five categories of trash: plastics, paper, food, other trash and used mercury light bulbs.
The new rules mandate placing the sorted garbage in colour-coded packages and throwing the packages into colour-coded containers. Violators will be subject to fines.
