ALMATY – Six men suspected of killing two Almaty policemen weren’t extremists, Almaty police spokeswoman Saltanat Azirbek told Central Asia Online August 1.
Police cornered and killed the men in an Almaty apartment July 30.
“We have no reason to suspect they had any connection to religious extremism,” she said. Police have identified the dead suspects as robbers.
