PESHAWAR – The 17.4MW hydro-power unit of the under-construction Gomal Zam Dam (GZD) project in Waziristan soon will begin operating as construction has almost been completed, according to a senior official.
“Power generation would begin in October this year,” Salim Khan, GZD project director, told Central Asia Online.
Construction work has ended on the dam and the water required for starting power generation has reached the required level in the reservoir, he said.
