JEDDAH – Pakistan August 13 proposed a worldwide meeting of religious scholars to issue an authoritative declaration against suicide attacks and all other forms of terrorism.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar proposed the meeting while addressing the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation ministerial meeting in Jeddah and said Pakistan would be happy to host the conference, according to a Pakistani foreign office statement August 13.
“We are deeply concerned that very often terrorism is associated with our noble religion,” she said. “We need to pool our resources to eradicate this malice from our lands.”
