KP to install satellite weather system
By Ashfaq Yusufzai
PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government November 8 said it would install a satellite weather radar system as soon as possible, media reported.
No effort will be spared to work toward a risk- and disaster-free life in the country, especially in this province, KP Governor Barrister Masood Kausar said at the conclusion of a three-day disaster management exhibition at the University of Peshawar.
The havoc caused by the flood in 2010 warrants a provincial early warning system, he said, according to Daily Aaj. Although the government needs to play an active role in disaster management, educational institutions must play a part in promoting awareness, he added.
