Afghan security forces kill 11 armed Taliban

KABUL – Afghan National Security Forces killed 11 armed Taliban in nine joint clearance operations launched December 9, Afghan Ministry of Interior officials said.
Afghan National Police (ANP), in co-ordination with Afghan National Army, National Directorate of Security and coalition forces conducted the nine operations, the ministry said. The troops also wounded one militant. The ANP arrested four suspects.
The operations took place in Nangarhar, Laghman, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Balkh, Kandahar, Logar, Ghazni and Helmand provinces.
Meanwhile, a Taliban member was killed when the roadside mine he was trying to plant exploded prematurely in Khost Province December 9.
